Rachel (Holben) Mihm 1796-1892
Rachel Holben was born in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, 29 Sep.1796. She was the daughter of Christian Holben and Maria Bachman. Rachel married Valentine Mihm, also from Lehigh County. They were living in Spencer, Medina County, Ohio by 1850 and in Van Wert County, Liberty Twp., Ohio by 1860. Rachel (Holben) Mihm and Valentine Mihm had 6 children, Mary Polly 1820-1888 who married Amos Beldon, David F. 1824-1907 who married Delilah Brouse, John Henry 1831-1891 who married Malissa Dague, Sophia 1833-1920 who married Isaac Putman, Catherine 1835-1918 who married Amasa King and Lavina 1839-1922 who married Andrew Mitchell King. Rachel's husband Valentine Mihm was a shoemaker by trade. Valentine Mihm died in Van Wert County on 8 Sep 1861. Rachel died in Mercer County, Ohio on 29 Aug 1892. They are both buried in Ridge (Slater) Cemetery, Van Wert County, Ohio.
