Florence (Kohus) Kuhlmann 1884-1972
Florence (Kohus) Kuhlmann was the daughter of Joan Heinrich Kohues who went by the name Henry Kohus after immigration to the USA and Anna Gertrud Fromme. She was born in Oct 1884 in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. Both her parents were from Ostbevern, Westphalia, Prussia. Her father Henry, a merchant tailor, was one of three Kohues/Kohus brothers to immigrate to Cincinnati, Ohio from Ostbevern. Florence married George Charles Kuhlmann 1880-1950 on 29 Jan 1908 in Cincinnati. Her husband was a salesman of household goods such as stoves and ranges. The only child of theirs I can account for was a daughter named Florence. All records I have seen indicate that Florence Kohus has an incorrect birth date on her headstone. I believe it should be 1884-1972. Florence died on 27 Feb 1972 in Norwood, Hamilton Co., Ohio. She is buried in Calvary Cemetery, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
