Evelyn Elisabeth Kohus, known as "Evie" by family members, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on 19 Mar 1909, to the parents of Herbert Bernard Kohus Sr. and Mabel Julia (Duncan) Kohus. She was the first child of her father and his second wife Mabel and grew up in Cincinnati. She married Harley Eubanks 1802-1930, (probably between 1927-1929). Harley was the son of John Eubanks and Alvyra Ellison of Adams County, Ohio. Harley Eubanks died on 25 Mar 1930 from injuries received in an automobile accident. Evelyn later married Walter Slayback 1900-1986 from Belleview, Boone County, Kentucky, the son of John and Mary Slayback. Walter was living in Aurora, Dearborn County, Indiana at the time of their marriage. Evelyn and Walter had no children. After marriage, Evelyn moved to Aurora, Indiana where she and Walter lived the remainder of their lives. Evelyn (Kohus) Slayback died on 12 Aug 1978 and is buried in Riverview Cemetery, Dearborn County, Indiana. her husband Walter died 4 Jan 1986.
