Rev. Basil Hamm 1882-1967 and wife Missouri Lee Blanton 1892-1951

Basil Hamm was born in Triplett, Rowan Co., Kentucky on 9 Nov. 1882. Basil was one of 12 children born to James Simon Hamm 1849-1914 and Mary Elisabeth Johnson 1853-1919. He was a minister of the Christian Holiness Church and the Kentucky Christian Conference. He also taught singing. Basil and family attended the Sardis Church on Clear Fork Road, Cranston, Rowan County, where he preached and the whole family sang. He married Missouri Lee Blanton, daughter of Lafayette A. Blanton and Nancy J.  Littleton, on 19 Aug 1888 in Rowan County, Kentucky. Basil Hamm died on 11 Dec 1967 at the St. Clare Medical Center, Morehead, Kentucky. Basil and wife Missouri are  buried in Sardis Cemetery,  Clear Fork Road, Cranston, Rowan County, Kentucky.
