Due to limited storage space I donated the following books to the American Library, an on line library where books may be read or downloaded for free to your computer. Click on the American Library link, http://www.archive.org/index.php, and search, using the name of the book.

Saga of the 723rd Railway Operating Battalion   This is one of the units my father Herbert Bernard Kohus Jr. 1917-2009 served in during WWII.  He trained stateside and went to Europe with the 723rd. ROB.  He later transferred to the 718th ROB, but the exact date is unknown at this time. Since his name does not appear on the 718th roster as of VE-Day, I must assume his transfer was some time after 9 May 1945. This seems further substantiated by the fact that his military medals match those of the 723rd.ROB not the 718th.  His discharge papers state he was a member of the 718th and I do remember that he wore the hat insignia of that unit.
