Harriet Brouse and family was counted twice on the 1850 census. Once on 20 Aug 1850 at the home of John's father Michael O Brouse, and once on 23 August at the home of Isaac Middleton living next door to his wife's father Thomas Frederick . In 1860 she is the head of household, John is dead and many of her children still at home. In 1870 she is retired living at the home of Samuel Musser. In 1880 she is 74 years old and living alone in Doylestown, Ohio. Harriet died on 12 Oct 1887.
