The town of Ostbevern, Westphalia, Germany

In the center you can see St. Ambrosius Church. The building was added to in 1962 but parts of the original structure dates to the 12th century. This is the church where many of my Kohues ancestors were baptized dating back to at least to the 1700's  and probably earlier. Birth, death and marriage records, were recorder here by perish priests and preserved in church books over hundreds of years. These books prove most valuable in proving the Kohues line in this family tree. The church books are preserved on microfilm and available through the LDS Church, Salt Lake City, Utah. I have copied entire volumes of these books and refer to them often.
